Kidneeds is dedicated to the study of Dense Deposit Disease (DDD) and C3 Glomerulopathy (C3GN). DDD and C3GN are sub-types of C3 glomerulopathy (C3G). C3G is caused by dysregulation of the alternative pathway of complement. About half of people with C3G progress to end stage renal failure disease (ESRD) within 10 years of diagnosis. Transplant recipients risk recurrence of disease in their allografts.

Kidneeds' goal is to stimulate research that will lead to a treatment for C3G. To reach this goal, Kidneeds funds scientists around the world to study DDD and C3GN.

Kidneeds is also an educational resource for patients and their families and healthcare providers.

The 6th C3G Focus Group Meeting was  held on September 8, 2017 in Copenhagen, Denmark as a satellite meeting immediately before the 16th European Meeting on Complement in Human Disease.

Patients and their families can help us learn more about DDD and C3GN by completing the:

MPGN Database Survey

This survey collects epidemiological data on persons with DDD and C3GN.
